Dr. Mazen Hashisho
Vascular Surgeon
Dr. Mazen Hashisho is a Vascular, General and Thoracic Surgeon with triple board certification from the American Board of Surgery and American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He completed his residency from The University of Iowa Medical Center. Later, he completed his fellowship in the subspecialty of cardiothoracic surgery from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, followed by a vascular surgery fellowship from The Loma Linda University Medical Center. He also did a year fellowship in minimally invasive thoracic surgery.
Dr. Hashisho has extensive clinical and academic experience as he has performed his duties as a vascular, general, and thoracic surgeon in various clinical settings. He also has considerable clinical teaching experience and has contributed to several publications.
Dr. Hashisho has extensive experience in open and minimally invasive vascular and thoracic procedures, including dialysis access treatment, peripheral arterial disease, venous insufficiency, carotid, and aneurysmal disease in addition to minimally invasive thoracic and abdominal surgery. His wide range of expertise in open, minimally invasive, and endovascular techniques makes him uniquely positioned to care for patients with complex surgical needs.
Dr. Leonard Caputo
General Surgeon
Dr. Leonard Caputo, an esteemed General Surgeon with over 25 years of experience, is certified by the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.Holding an MD from Loma Linda University School of Medicine and an MBA from George Washington University, he blends clinical precision with strategic insight. Beginning at Loma Linda University Medical Center, Dr. Caputo completed a robust residency and conducted research presented at the American College of Surgeons. He then served Hollister and Gilroy, California communities for 16 years with a private practice, earning deep respect for his patient-centered care.
His leadership roles at Hazel Hawkins Hospital included Chief of Staff and Chief of Surgery, where his multi-lingual abilities in Spanish and Italian enhanced patient outreach. He also taught at CSUMB’s Physician Assistant Program. During his time as Medical Director for Sound Physicians and Greater Newport Physicians IPA, Dr. Caputo improved patient care quality and efficiency. He also dedicated part of his career to urgent care and wound care with Doctors on Duty and Advantage Surgical and Wound Care. In his tenure as a Medical Director for United Health Care, he exemplified his dedication to maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice and operational excellence.
